In a joint press statement with his Hungarian counterpart, Viktor Orban, from Budapest, Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that he is optimistic about Albania's European future.
Rama expressed confidence that our country is ready to join the EU by 2030. He also emphasized that at this stage where Albania is, it would not be possible under normal conditions, but Putin's invasion, according to Rama, woke up the EU. .
" It was a really special day. This is a very beautiful capital, we also had the chance to live conversations with the prime minister. It was very special to see all of Europe come together in this place. It will be a great privilege to work as a team to make the next meeting in Tirana successful. I have to tell you that until many years ago, this conversation with the EU was unthinkable. Putin woke up the EU, but I have to say that in this forum, together with what is happening with the EC, the increased growth plan is something very encouraging. It has a special energy and it has a special thing. This is a place where there is a freer exchange of opinions, a very palpable sense of freedom.
I want to say that we believe and we thanked Emmanuel Macron together, because we believe that his idea to promote the organization of such a format, is something that was destined to be useful. It was clear that we need to work together, with this team to propose another homologous structure of strategic thinking, to do the related work between the two forums. I am tragically optimistic about the future, about the future of Albania, whose place is in Europe ", Rama stressed.
