Interior Minister Bledi Çuçi has responded regarding the allusions of the MEK camp that today's inspection by the State Police was carried out by order of Iran.
Çuçi said that this is a malicious allusion for political consumption, as he pointed out that Albania has cut off diplomatic relations with Iran. He added that it is not the Albanian government that intervened in the MEK camp, but the court that ordered the intervention.
"We have never had problems with states, either neighboring or other countries. We are a peaceful country. Always confident in our openness, for anyone who alludes that we may have been coerced for these actions by other countries, even here by Iran, it is an unsubstantiated claim, that the Albanian government is not the one that intervened in the MEK camp , but the court that ordered the intervention. Our attitude towards the regime of Iran is very clear, last fall we also cut off diplomatic relations. Allusions are malicious and only for political consumption. The actions against the officers are intolerable, they are in Albania with the commitment that they will not carry out any political activity, any protest and will implement the laws of the Albanian state. We have met our obligations to the best of our ability under our hospitality code. I have even left a responsible person from the ministry so that he can be there for any kind of trouble and problem they may have with any office or institution in Albania. Direct violation of the agreement we have made with them",said Çuçi during the press conference.
