The Minister of the Interior, Bledi Çuçi, has called today's violence and resistance of the Mujahideen against the state police, which carried out a control in the "MEK" camp by order of the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, unacceptable.
In a press conference related to the case, Çuçi added that MEK members were taken over by the Albanian state only to be sheltered and that they are not allowed to carry out political organizations, according to the agreement that was made by both parties.
He added that the SPAK operation in the Mujahideen camp in Manez was launched based on the violations that the members of the MEK organization have made against the agreement they have with the Albanian government.
Çuçi said that the members of the organization should only implement the court order for the police control and not make that kind of reaction. He said that the Iranians have violated the code of hospitality of the Albanians.
" To clarify some aspects of the control that was exercised today in the MEK. I want to tell you that I feel bad and even indignant with the reaction of the members of the MEK organization to the state police during the action. I feel sorry that Albania has offered them everything related to their shelter for humanitarian purposes according to the agreement. It has provided him with help, security, and protection against the threats coming from Iran's secret services. For more than 3 thousand days they have lived in complete safety in our guarantee. Unimaginable violence and the reaction they made to the State Police. We were concerned about non-compliance with the agreement.
Their political activity has recently attracted the attention of SPAK, which has initiated more than one criminal case with this. No one has the right to oppose the decisions of the court. We must agree that it is not only a legal violation for anyone living in Albania, but also a kind of violation of the code of hospitality that we have offered them. To be clear, the MEK organization has an agreement with the Albanian government to take refuge in Albania only for humanitarian purposes. They are forbidden to carry out any kind of political activity. From time to time we have had concerns about non-compliance with the agreement.
Their political activities have been public, but this has recently attracted the attention of the SPAK Special Prosecutor's Office, which has started more than one criminal case related to this. Just as any law enforcement institution in Albania should act, SPAK, when it had doubts, went to the court to make an inspection inside the camp, which is Albanian territory like all the others. GJKKO made the decision within all the laws for the control and confiscation of equipment. No one in Albania, including members of the MEK organization who have taken refuge for humanitarian purposes, has the right to oppose court decisions. That's why I feel sorry for this reaction of many of the members of this organization towards the state police ", said Çuçi.
