When will the files of Meta and other spies in politics be opened? The Assembly
Gentiana Sula reporting to the Assembly today

The Laws Commission has decided today to address a letter to the Files Authority to verify the deputies if they had any connection with the Security...

The Assembly has been reminded after a year to implement the law on spies in politics. A year ago, it became known that Ilir Meta and 5 other people were collaborators of Sigurimi and a law was passed that would open the files. But this law was never implemented. The Dossier Authority has not revealed any information about political spies with the argument that it should be the Assembly that should set it in motion.

Today the president of AIDSSH was in the Laws Committee to report on the work of the previous year and the deputies were reminded to implement the law.

The chairwoman of the commission, Klotilda Bushka, said at the meeting that the Commission will address a request to the Authority to declassify documents for all deputies. " The request will be made by us as a commission, but in a rational and proportional way, so as not to overload the work of the institution ," she said.

Bushka said that for this reason the requests will be divided into groups and not sent all at the same time, since according to her, "requesting an investigation for 1300 names is utopian".

But it seems that there is a catch here as well. The first is not known when the request will be made and the second will have requests in different periods of time. This means that the total opening of the files for the policy will take many months, maybe even years.

Gentian Sula himself was also justified in the commission that he cannot make public the names of spies in politics. " Regarding the publication on the official website of the Authority, of the list of individuals who have turned out to be collaborators of the former State Security, difficulties have been encountered with this point of the resolution, because personal data is protected by a broad national legal framework and international that aims not to violate the image and private life of persons ", she said. / Pamphlet
