Leader of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha has made the first reaction after the Constitutional Court suspended President Bajram Begaj's decree to hold partial elections in the Municipality of Tirana on November 9, following an appeal by the dismissed mayor Erion Veliaj.
Berisha said that the judges, according to him, "protected the Constitution from their enemies, the villains of the state."
At the beginning of his speech, Berisha explained that Florian Binaj will remain the candidate that the DP and the opposition will support at any moment that the by-elections will be held in the capital.
" Today, the Constitutional Court made a decision that I welcome as an act of great importance in protecting the Constitution of the country, the constitutionality of the order. I welcome the unanimous decision of the judges, who protected constitutionality and the Constitution from their enemies, not to mention the villains of the state.
I am before you and I am the person who, three days before Edi Rama unveiled his scenario, warned him that he would act in this way and that he would bypass the Criminal Court with the shameful, banal and vulgar claim that the Council of Ministers is the notary of the municipal council.
You can only do this when you do not have the law or morality and the minimum respect for the state but you rush to the Constitutional Court. So I believe that with this decision you do a service to the country, the constitutional order and gave them the seal of shame but they have no shame because they would never act against those who trampled the constitution and his puppet president Rama and all those who were implicated in this major anti-constitutional act. ", said Berisha.- Berisha told the media.
