Adriatik Lapaj, the leader of the "Albania Becomes" movement, which is running in coalition with Nisma Thurrje in the May 11 elections, said that Edi Rama has been allowed to remain in power by the Albanians themselves.
With an estimate of the votes received in 2021, Lapaj said that Rama received only 21.7% of the votes, but he received 52% of the mandates without having the majority votes.
"The current government received only 48 percent of those who voted in the last elections, but in the meantime it received 52 percent of the mandates, taking power without having the votes of the majority of those who voted. In relation to the population, it received only 21.7 percent of the votes of Albanians.
"And he has been in power for 12 years and is stealing from Albanians, and they say that he is strong, he is in power because we have allowed him, so we must unite to overthrow him. How can a man who has received the votes of 2 out of 10 of us stay in power? Because 8 of us have allowed him to steal," said Lapaj.
