Prime Minister Edi Rama is holding a meeting today with the mayors of the country's municipalities in Durrës, with a focus on local government administration and the challenges brought about by the increase in tourist flows in the main cities.
The Mayor of Puka, Rrok Dodaj, expressed his concern to the Prime Minister about the issue of legalizations. He said that in 6 months, 14 legalizations have been made out of 175 files. Dodaj said that there are also many people in the villages waiting to receive their ownership certificates.
Meanwhile, Rama jokingly told him that even though he is a democrat, he should be appreciated for his dedication to this work. He added that in areas such as Puka, residents should receive the title deed and not wait until they are included in the digital map.
Excerpts from the discussion:
Rrok Dodaj: 6-7 months only 14 or 20 legalizations out of 175 files.
Edi Rama: You are a democrat, a democrat, but I must say the good things. The dedication of the one who is in charge is very important. Puka is not an area with inexhaustible human resources and yet the result there is very positive and it is in the municipalities that have made progress. So it is another example that it is a matter of dedication and setting the focus by the head of the municipality to move the process forward. In the village, in the houses of the village, we must give more trust to the mayor and the local government because the possibility of conflicts there, when it has received confirmation from the municipality, is very small and we cannot tell the village to wait for the digital map in the Puka area, we are saying. To get that title of ownership and then when the day comes to enter them on the digital map.
