The deputy of the Socialist Party, Petro Koçi, has spoken about the withdrawal of the Socialists from Berisha's testimony to the Investigative Commission for the TIMS system.
Koçi said that calling Berisha to the Investigative Commission is a mistake, since the former prime minister is under house arrest and cannot break the security measure.
"We as socialists have certain principles. In that Commission, I heard that it was said that perhaps Mr. Berisha should have been summoned, but it would be a mistake, because he is already a person in isolation and does not serve the case. An investigative Commission must reach conclusions, must say whether the concessions are valid or not. Let the Investigative Commission give a conclusion at the end, it can say that concessions are needed in very specific cases.
If they are useful, it should mean there should be limits, so that no room for abuse is allowed. That's how I think of an Investigative Commission. But in Albania, the goal is to make X guilty in front of the Albanians. Serious conclusions must be drawn, where you also engage experts", Koçi told News 24".
