The deputy of the Socialist Party, Petro Koçi, speaking about the issue of Olta Xhaçka's mandate, said that she cannot bear personal responsibility regarding the conflict of interest on the benefits of her co-habitant. This is because, according to him, Xhaçka would have to be personally involved in order to be held responsible.
Koçi said that this situation is being used by the opposition, while he said that Gazment Bardhi, the head of the DP parliamentary group, is using it as an artifice to make everything look like the majority is protecting Mrs. Xhaçka.
"If in the moral sense there is something that burdens you, in the legal sense there is no possibility of Xhaçka taking individual responsibility as a deputy. According to the Constitution, you must be directly involved in a conflict of interest.
Mr. Bardhi makes an artifice that, being from the field, he knows well that Xhaçka has no responsibility, but he is playing a game to impress the public and voting against him looks like protection.
In the meantime, the opposition should remember that Gjin Gjoni was elected as the head of Reestablishment in Lezhë", he said.
