Lulzim Basha has officially requested the return to the head of the DP. Although until today he had not declared such a thing with his mouth, today he has officially submitted his candidacy to be part of the July 29 elections.
At noon, the PD National Council met, which formalized the holding of the elections for the president. Although there was criticism and opposition, July 29 was marked as the date when the new head will be voted for. Meanwhile, today was the deadline for submission of candidacies. Basha was in London and it is learned that after his return he submitted the form, thus becoming the second candidate to show interest. Gjergj Hani submitted his candidacy earlier. So it seems that we will have a formal process, which will enable Basha to take the leadership of the party.
The National Council has also brought clashes within the PD that has the seal. 7 deputies came out with a statement and stated that it was gathered in violation of the Statute.
" With the responsibility to protect the interest of the democrats and the Democratic Party, we find that today there was no legitimate meeting of the National Council of the DP. Considering the result of today's meeting as anti-statutory, in order to avoid another stalemate in the DP, to stop the further division of the Democratic Party, as well as to guarantee the strengthening of the Democratic Party, we declare that: Starting today we will take the initiative to individually contact and evaluate the will of each legitimate member of the National Council on the situation in the Democratic Party and we will continue efforts to strengthen the Democratic Party, convinced that divisive acts, exclusions, bias and haste, does not help the revival of the DP " , they say.
So it seems that when Basha returns to the head of the party, he will no longer have a DP like the one he left. Only 7 MPs went to the National Council and in addition to Berisha's group, a group has now been created that is against both of them.
