The next day will be the first meeting of the investigative commission for TIMS, set up after the PS-Rithemelim agreement.

According to the agenda, on Tuesday it is expected that the investigative commission will be constituted, its members will be introduced and the tasks will be defined.

"Dear MPs, the Investigative Commission for TIMS will hold a meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., Pjetër Abnori hall. You can find the agenda attached. Thank you!", the announcement states.

The investigative commission for the leakage of data from the TIMS system will be headed by the democratic deputy Ervin Salianji. The vice-chairman of the commission from the majority side will be Tonin Gogu.

On March 2, SP and Rithemelimi joined the votes in the Assembly for the establishment of two parliamentary investigative commissions.

With 96 votes in favor and 1 abstention, the establishment of the Investigative Committee of the Assembly for the Handling of TIMS System Data was approved, while with 95 votes in favor and 1 abstention, the investigative commission for the public service of Sterilization and the public service of Check-up was approved.

The Investigative Commissions consist of 15 members, of which the chairman and 6 members are from the DP and 8 members from the SP and will carry out its activity in a 4-month time frame, from the date of approval of this decision.

 The scandal with the TIMS system

On August 2, 2023, it is reported that the new head of the Department of Technology and Information in the State Police has ordered the transfer of TIMS system data to an external hard drive. On the same day, it is learned that an employee of the State Police, who fell on the trail of this act, notified his superior, who immediately ordered the blocking of all data export. But the new manager, according to the data that has been made public from the internal reactions that happened during that day in the State Police, has asked his colleagues to exclude the manager from any action on their computers. The serious incident has simmered for three days within the State Police, where it has been emphasized that Muhamet Rrumbullaku, the chief police officer of the country, has actually been made aware of the scandal. The scandal was brought out on August 5, in the afternoon, it was released to the media in the form of an email sent by a police officer aware of the act to the police chiefs. The informative and detailed email with all the concrete actions of the head of the Police and the people who supported him was distributed on all social networks, but without being able to reach the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, let alone SPAK.
