Occurred in these conditions, where none of the maneuvers used by his lawyers could get him out of isolation, Berisha has decided to play the last card.
Located within the four walls of the house since December 30 of last year, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has made all possible efforts to get out of isolation.
After the arrest, Berisha first turned to SPAK, to ask for permission to participate in the plenary sessions as a deputy. But the official answer of the Special Prosecutor's Office was quite clear: Like any other citizen, Berisha under house arrest is not allowed to go to work, reinforcing the argument that he is under the same conditions and rules as in detention, where nobody can participate in activities outside the prison.
With the same request, in order to gain permission to go to the Assembly, Berisha turned to GJKKO, and just like the first answer, judge Irena Gjoka gave the same arguments and rejected the request of the former prime minister.
But the latter would not give up and decided to send the case to Appeal, but without result. A few days ago, the Special Court of Appeal rejected his request to participate in the plenary sessions in the Assembly, in function of his mandate as a deputy.
Occurred in these conditions, where none of the maneuvers used by him and his lawyers could get him out of isolation, Berisha has decided to play the last card. The former prime minister has sent the case to the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court has set the date of April 9 for the court hearing on the request of the former prime minister, Sali Berisha, for freedom from the "house arrest" measure.
At 1:30 p.m. on April 9, a Criminal Panel with judge Sokol Binaj as relator will examine the appeal made by the former prime minister in the Counseling Chamber.
At the end of this session, the fate of the former prime minister will be sealed, who on April 9 will exhaust all levels of the judiciary and may remain under "house arrest" for a long time./Pamphlet
