Prime Minister Edi Rama from the "Western Balkans Growth Plan and Faster Integration in the EU" conference gave a clear message to the leaders of the Balkans, calling on them to forget the colors of the flags and history.
He said he is enthusiastic.
" That's why we started with the Open Balkans. This was a kind of daily politics, the struggle of power, of strength. What we did, we set the agenda, which is part of this growth and a single market, that it does not depend on us, but let us join ourselves. Everyone says; no no. The former prime minister of Montenegro, a prominent professor said that we cannot join now. I said; accede now and we will join Montenegro. I do not believe that Montenegro is a member country. I can talk a lot about this. It is a historical act and something dramatic. Forgive my enthusiasm, I'm not crazy, but there are reasons to be optimistic. At dinner last night we realized that we can do this, we can have civilized conversation, without interrupting the conversation. When it comes to food, you have to admit that you are not the best in the region. First; to establish a political circle like we had last night, to meet regularly. You have to forget history, you have to be discerning. So you should see the colors of the flags. Forget history and colors, because we only have one color, which is the color of the EU flag. I hope everything will go well.
The last thing, there is room for improvement because we have to be more ambitious and ask for more. When we talk about Albania, we are happy that we are not so patriotic and so connected to history and we are ready to work with everyone. Let's put pressure on everyone to finish this job. I am sure that we are good at conflict, we don't want to be remembered by conflicts, but that we have done something for our people. We invite leaders to participate in the BP Summit with President Zelensky in early February. We should learn from Ukraine. It will be good to learn how to fight corruption when someone bombards you from morning to night. ", said Rama.
