Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha seems to still be angry with former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who declared him "non-grata".
In an interview for the show "Top Story" on "Top Channel", Berisha accused Blinken of unfairly attacking him, as he was the most pro-American person in Europe. He further added that he hoped that American justice would hold Blinken accountable for his actions.
"I have never confessed this, I am confessing it tonight, he attacked me in a very unfair, dishonest way, he attacked me as an enemy at a time when we as Albanians have the cult of the friend and we have it very well, a friend comes out and shoots you as an enemy, but he found me in a position, I say this... I have never said that this is the greatest truth of Sali Berisha, the one from whom I was inspired had lost every battle, but did not hesitate to participate in the battle. I had made friends, I had been labeled in Europe as very pro-American, not unconsciously, and now he was coming out for lobbying and corruption, Antony Blinken proved to be an unworthy official and I hope that American justice will show him the place for the deception he has done to the American people", said Berisha.
