MP Monika Kryemadhi is in an interview on the "Opinion" show on TV Klan, where, among other things, she spoke about her divorce process with former President Ilir Meta.
During the interview, Kryemadhi states that she will not participate in the next divorce hearing either because, according to her, her position is clear, while adding that the process should be controlled by those who initiated it.
Monika Kryemadhi, among other things, has revealed details about when their relationship broke down. Kryemadhi emphasizes that she received the news of the divorce from the media, where she mentions a phone call from a journalist who asked her about it.
Excerpt from the interview:
Blendi Fevziu: The public news has come out that your divorce with Meta is being formalized officially. What happened in your relationship with Ilir Meta, after you once said that you were ready to commit a crime of passion.
Monika Kryemadhi: Yes, and it has always been like that and today I… When I met Ilir Meta I was 17 years old and when we got together I was not yet 20 years old. We got together in January of '94 and beyond that we have another trial on April 11 and I will not appear in court again because I am very clear in my entire position, whether personal or political, that the people who initiated the divorce should be in charge. Whoever initiated it should be in charge.
Blendi Fevziu: Who initiated it, Mr. Meta? Mr. Meta is in prison today.
Monika Kryemadhi: I don't know. Let the one who initiated it control the process. Then the rest of the moment of the personal relationship is something that concerns my family, our personal relationships. So the divorce issue is neither the first nor the last to happen to me.
Blendi Fevziu: Your relationship was as much a family, marital relationship as it was a political one. Your issue was more complicated.
Monika Kryemadhi: Mr. Fevziu, I'm calling the issue political-personal, I don't want to discuss it anymore in an emotional or personal aspect.
Blendi Fevziu: How long ago was your relationship broken, Mrs. Kryemadhi?
Monika Kryemadhi: The relationship was broken on April 1st of last year and I was then in your studio where I said that our relationship was frozen and after that I didn't have any other television appearances.
Blendi Fevziu: What was the main reason for the divorce?
Monika Kryemadhi: I have never understood Mr. Fevziu.
Blendi Fevziu: How come you didn't understand, didn't you talk to Mr. Meta about this?
Monika Kryemadhi: No. I also saw the information about the divorce in the media and it was a journalist from Voice of America who called me and told me this. I was even watching the Italy-France match and of course it didn't feel good to me.
Blendi Fevziu: Was there ever a moment when you sat down with your husband for an explanation?
Monika Kryemadhi: I think it is not something new on your show to discuss this. I think that Mr. Meta's emotional and spiritual relationship with me is over. He is filing a civil lawsuit in court, and of course that is it. I hope that time will make us all understand the problems we have. Because let's not forget one thing that no, time is not the best healer, but we get used to the problem and I think that in the human aspect, Mr. Meta made a personal decision and I think that in the political aspect, of course...
Blendi Fevziu: Where was your relationship broken?
Monika Kryemadhi: I didn't think it was broken, but from what I heard from interviews, it was the burning of mandates.
