The Montenegrin President, Jakov Milatovic has reacted harshly to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, who through a statement said that "only those who speak worse about Serbia" can join the Government of Montenegro, as well as that some parties do not want registration, because there will be more Serbs".
"The issue of the formation of the Government of Montenegro, as well as the issue of registration, are internal issues of our country, its citizens and institutions, I consider the comments of foreign officials on this occasion, regardless of whether they come from the USA, the European Union or Serbia, unsuitable. Montenegro is a sovereign, civil and democratic country," Milatovic wrote on his X network account.
The inappropriate statements of the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, in response to the population census in Montenegro are not a good example of good neighborly relations, because they clearly fuel national tensions that undermine the hard-earned reconciliation between the citizens of Montenegro, have declared from the URA Movement.
From URA they say that with such statements they are returning to the focus of the topics that have kept our country, but also the region, trapped in national and religious divisions since the 1990s, which certainly does not contribute to the progress of our countries on the road to the Union European and unfortunately, they may lead us back down the Balkan roads, which we are sure none of us want.
"The Balkans have had enough of hatred, division, conflict, it is time to finally choose reconciliation, mutual respect and progress", announced today from the URA Civic Movement.
"The population registration is an internal issue of Montenegro, for which all citizens have the right to express themselves freely and no one can deny them this right, be they Montenegrins, Serbs, Bosniaks, Albanians, Croats, Roma or any other nation", it is further stated in the reaction.
