Democratic leader Sali Berisha, during a conversation with followers on social media, said that in Albania, the level of fuel taxes should be equal to Kosovo and North Macedonia.
In this context, the democratic leader has called on the Government to take such a step, while considering the increase in fuel prices as speculation.
" The price increase is a major speculation in Albania, as the Albanian government imposes taxes of 1.1 euros on a liter of diesel like no other country."
So our commitment is and has been, unequivocally, that in the territory of the Republic of Albania, a liter of oil cannot be sold more expensively than in Macedonia and Kosovo, which means that we would equalize taxes with these two countries and then everything else would be dealt with with an iron fist as speculation.
Because Macedonia and Kosovo do not have a single inch of sea, and they get their oil from Durrës or Thessaloniki and sell the oil about 70% below the price in Albania.
"So by leveling taxes with these countries, we pave the way for a price equal to these countries ," Berisha said.
