The legal representative of the Democratic Party, Rezarti Kthupi, has commented on the approval in Parliament of the law on Criminal Amnesty.
He said that this law benefits all state officials who have not been the head of the institution, but who have been convicted by GJKKO for corruption.
Taking the tender of police uniforms as a concrete example, the lawyer said that all officials who have been convicted for violating equality in the tender benefit from the amnesty.
"Each participant of the procurement unit, evaluation of offers, who has violated the tender for the sake of the director, or on his account, and has been convicted by the Special Court for Organized Crime and Corruption today, will receive a 1 and a half year reduced sentence.
Any person who is not the owner of the institution benefits from the amnesty. There was a big uproar about the police uniform tender, where 7 or 12 officials were sentenced, all of them benefit. The same applies to every tender and every official who has been punished for violating equality in tenders. Amnesty is a principle" , said Kthupi for "Euronews Albania".
