Eduart Halimi has considered Prime Minister Edi Rama's initiative to intervene in the Criminal Code, with the aim of preventing SPAK from having the right to request the Court to suspend members of the Government from their functions, an emergency to protect ministers.
On the show "Oponencje" on News24, the former Minister of Justice said that this intervention is pressure on the justice system.
" Article 242 does not prohibit the suspension of ministers if they are suspected of committing criminal offenses. What the Government is trying to do is change it and create protection for ministers so that if they are suspected of a criminal offense, they are not suspended and can continue working. But this does not negate the fact that a security measure of imprisonment or house arrest can be requested.
In the entire Eastern European basin, whenever justice hits the opposition, it is very good. But the moment it approaches the government, then it intervenes, justice is crazy, there are mice and hyenas. This change is an emergency that aims to solve a problem and this package that has been proposed does not solve the problem that the government aims to solve. It is an attempt to put pressure on justice , "said Halimi.
