In his speech to the assembly, SP Group Chairman Niko Peleshi focused on achievements in the field of foreign relations and the amendment of the Electoral Code.
According to him, Albania's image has improved significantly in the international arena. " From a country with few meetings in EU chancelleries, today Albania is the host of EU and NATO summits ," said Peleshi.
Referring to the diaspora vote, Peleshi highlighted that the Socialist Party was fully committed to its realization, also approving funds to guarantee a free voting process for the diaspora.
" The diaspora vote has been a permanent commitment of the Socialist Party. The consensus on the changes to the Electoral Code is a positive moment of constructive politics. The Socialist Party Parliamentary Group expects to vote on the changes to the Electoral Code, giving the CEC the necessary time for their implementation. The government has allocated funds to guarantee a free voting process for the diaspora ," he added.
Peleshi further said that despite the destructive rhetoric and obstacles, the Parliament has paved the way for economic and social progress. Albania is at a historic moment.
