Ervin Salianji, former DP MP, admits that this party has made big mistakes and is to blame for the situation it finds itself in today.
"Of course there is. There cannot be. There is responsibility for some decisions that have been made. For example, participation in the administrative-territorial reform was a mistake, because the division we have today was made without the influence of the DP."
"Also, getting involved in the justice reform without the proper influence was another mistake," said Salianji in an interview for the show "Dekalog" with Roland Qafokun on DritareTV.
He particularly emphasizes the decision to give up the mandates as the biggest mistake:
"The biggest mistake, without a doubt, was giving up the mandates. Personally, I was among the few who voted against it. It is documented."
"The abandonment of mandates brought an even more terrible change: the change in the electoral code that has fundamentally deformed democracy. Not participating in local elections was also another fatal mistake."
Salianji said that the responsibility does not lie with a single individual, but collectively, from Basha to Berisha and Bardhi.
"So, there was a lot of responsibility, and not just from one person. Lulzim Basha also has responsibility, but so do others."
Sali Berisha is not excluded either, because each person, according to the weight of the influence they have had, bears a share of responsibility. Guilt and responsibility must be accepted.
"Because if we don't make the correct diagnosis, we can't find a solution. We have to admit the mistakes so we don't repeat them again," he said.
