After the May 11 elections, rumors about a reform of the Democratic Party increased, but demands for the removal of Sali Berisha from the post of party leader have stopped.
And while Berisha has announced the launch of a process that would reform this party, aiming for new names and security, it seems that a new movement is taking shape within the Democratic Party.
According to Euronews, in a setting outside the DP headquarters, a meeting was held between some of the most voted names on the open list or primaries of this party.
They have also been joined by Ervin Salianji, who, after completing his sentence related to what is known as the 'Babalja' file, has returned to the DP, aiming to take a position in the leadership structures.
But who were the names that met today? We are talking about Ilir Alimehmet and Hysen Kadiu, the first of which resulted among the most voted names on the open list of the DP in the Tirana District, while the other was the most voted name in the primary, but did not run for MP. Also at the meeting were Gentian Cela, Qani Xhafa, Aulon Kalaja, Ted Kolliku, Alma Kore, Parid Mahmutaj, Xhemal Gjunkshi, etc.
Will they be able to form a group within the DP and exert pressure to reform this party? Perhaps it is too soon to say such a thing.
