Interior Minister Taulant Balla has reacted to the extremely serious event in Shkodër, where a woman is suspected to have drowned in Buna along with her three children, due to the violence and pressure caused by her husband.
Through a post on the social network, "Facebook", Balla called that every woman should denounce the violence, for which there is no justification.
" The serious event in Shkodër, where a mother and her three children allegedly drowned themselves in the Buna river, shocked us all. The specialized unit of RENEA and the National Public Security Force are continuing the search along the entire course of the Buna River. The State Police has detained the husband and there are strong suspicions that domestic violence and psychological pressure pushed the victim to this tragic act.
I take the opportunity to call on every woman to denounce any form of violence. Violence often manifests itself at home, behind closed doors, but this is a topic that needs to be made public. Violence against women is not a private matter. It interests us all. And we, the whole society, must encourage the victims of violence to report it. There can be #NoJustification for violence – not at home, not in the workplace, not in public life, not online. Nowhere! ", writes Balla.
