The head of the SP group, Bledi Çuçi, has presented to the Assembly the anti-corruption draft resolution of the SP, which will be voted on today.
Çuçi said that with the justice reform they have brought down the 'monument' of the culture of impunity. But according to him, the new justice cannot succeed alone in the fight against corruption, and therefore the work on reforming the government continues
" No one before, no force of weight, has stepped into the sea to make justice independent from political power. Thanks to this reform, Albania would have no chance to see what it is seeing, the collapse of the monument of the culture of impunity. We have created a Special Prosecutor's Office and Court to deal with organized crime and corruption. We have done everything for no other reason than to strengthen the Albanian state. No one can deny that justice acts independently of the government The new justice system cannot be the only one to eradicate this phenomenon. The majority has started and continues to reform the government, because we believe that the fight against corruption is through systems that protect the public from this phenomenon a lot and we have achieved a lot. This is said above all by the EU's decision to open the negotiations. If Albania had not changed like day and night, compared to what it was when they did not even give the charter candidate country.
The fight against corruption must continue whenever and wherever. This is a necessity that stems from the screeninig and all the tasks of the membership process. The government will not be integrated into the EU. The task for all is the fight against corruption through self-reformation and harmonization of efforts. I hope that with the approval of the resolution and with the desire to approve it all, today we pave the way for the establishment of a special commission with the US and EU allies, interest groups, to address no longer our differences, nor our party interests, but the process further European state-making, analyzing all the links of the state at this stage and identifying the steps and measures that must be taken for the reformation of the Albanian state ," said Çuçi.
