Prime Minister Edi Rama is at the Tropoja wind farm today.
In his speech, the head of government stated that our country has long been dependent on hydropower production, but that this is now expected to change.
Rama emphasized that Albania will be in the category of countries that have complete energy independence.
"We hope that everything goes as it should and within 12 months, not counting the period when winter is intense, this large wind energy park in Tropoja will enter the network of renewable energy producers in our country. Given the company's experience and the successful journey of the company that, as you saw on the map of its presence in Europe, has marched in several countries before reaching Albania, I am confident that we will gain new knowledge and an added value in the culture of work and action in such a strategic sector. This investment goes in that strategic direction and the path to fulfilling the objective of making Albania a sovereign country in energy production. For a long period, we had a complete dependence on water, and we have inherited a system with so many cracks, that when we lacked rain, we bought large amounts of energy at exorbitant prices, but this is coming to an end. We will be in the category of those countries that have complete independence," he said.
