After Thursday's visit to Italy, Prime Minister Edi Rama's agenda continues with his participation in Spain at the "In Defense of Democracy" Summit, which is being held in Barcelona, at the invitation of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
The summit is developing its work on two main pillars: institutions and multilateralism, and disinformation related to digital technology.
Discussions include interventions in the digital environment to limit disinformation, strengthen democratic institutions and international cooperation, and address inequalities that affect the functioning of democracy.
Within the framework of this meeting, Rama anticipates meetings with Pedro Sanchez and the President of the European Council, António Costa.
The day before, in Rome, he held a meeting with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The meeting took place six months after the Italy-Albania intergovernmental summit, where 16 cooperation agreements were signed in areas such as defense, health, security and infrastructure.
