Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, spoke about the challenges of the opposition and the need for profound change within the DP.
" To be in opposition for a fourth term, you have to reinvent yourself. There are many discussions in the DP about the instruments we should use. The mindset to open the party and learn from the mistakes of the past is important. There is no question that we need to do things differently ," said Tabaku, a guest on the show "This Week" on News24.
She emphasized that all the major causes of the day, including the Belinda Balluku issue, were initially raised by the Democratic Party.
" All the causes being discussed today, including Balluk's, were raised by the DP and society is suffering. To put the DP in focus, whether it protests or not, seems wrong to me. We need to talk to the citizens to lift their spirits ," she added.
Tabaku said that people may have doubts that this government cannot be changed by vote, but the DP must work in parallel on all fronts.
" The podium is intended as a space for citizens as well, where the opposition does not have the penalization that occurs in Parliament, and as a form of resistance in protest. Protesting is not bad. Protesting should be done by the opposition, there is nothing wrong with protesting ," Tabaku continued.
The MP emphasized the importance of political rotation and openness to new individuals.
" The DP parliamentary group is a reflection of how the party advances its vision. For me, political rotation is healthy and we must work towards this. The opposition spirit is there, but we must materialize it. People also value the individual. The party's tour also aims to identify candidates who can join the opposition spirit ," concluded Jorida Tabaku.
