The Secretary of Legal and Electoral Affairs in DP, Indrit Sefa, has spoken about the proposal for the creation of an opposition federation.
Sefa said that the Democratic Party cannot cooperate with a person non grata, referring to the former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, the current head of the Foltore group.
However, he said that DP is open to cooperation with other opposition factors.
"DP's position is the same. The position is related to a clear policy of its own, a standard, the designation non grata by strategic allies cannot make you a collaborator with a person non grata. We have two clear positions of the USA. We do not even cooperate with Edi Rama. We cooperate with all the MPs of the opposition parties to the government that is robbing the Albanian citizens", said Sefa.
On the other hand, the head of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, said that in the current situation, the opposition cannot win the elections.
He added that the debate would not exist if the opposition was victorious, so there is a need to find a way to unite the opposition factors.
"May I ask you a simple question? If the PD that you say with Basha wins the elections, this conversation is pointless because we win, there is no need for anything. But as we are, we cannot win the elections, we must find a way to unite the values to win the elections. We Albanians can't bear to say why this one doesn't do it and why he doesn't do it. We agree that whoever is in charge of the country is not the right one. Most of the society is leaving", said Mediu.
