Ulsi Manja gave a statement to the media after the meeting of the Ethics Secretariat where the expulsion of 6 DP MPs was decided following the chaos and tensions in Thursday's session in the Assembly.
"According to the secretariat's regulations, the Ethics Committee strictly holds meetings behind closed doors. I am the chair and I make the announcements. This was the second meeting of the secretariat. In the first meeting, since there was a large number of people, and the measures were requested to be escalated, we decided that today we would watch the footage of the session again.
Today we gathered to give the measures. In the end, the secretariat decided that only 6 deputies will be expelled for 30 working days, when the parliamentary session begins. The deputies who have committed violent acts, by pulling out microphones, lighting flares and throwing objects at the Speaker of the Assembly, were expelled, while for all other deputies it was decided that this time there will only be attention-grabbing. The secretariat has 5 members, 3 from the majority and 2 from the opposition. The measures for the other deputies remain, I remind you that the Ethics Secretariat is an act that regulates the proper functioning of the Albanian Parliament.

Meanwhile, for 23 other MPs, no exclusion from plenary sessions was decided, but attention was drawn to their behavior in the Assembly.
At the request of the Socialist Party, the plenary session was accompanied by acts of violence, including the throwing of pyrotechnics and hard objects into the hall, attacks on the Speaker of the Assembly, members of the Council of Ministers and employees of the Republic Guard, as well as the blocking of the rostrum and the normal development of parliamentary proceedings.
The SP Parliamentary Group emphasizes that, based on the video footage and the evidence administered, these actions constitute serious violations of the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly and the Code of Conduct of the Deputy.
