The Ethics Secretariat in the Albanian Parliament is holding a meeting where they are expected to decide on administrative measures against 29 Democratic Party deputies, following the chaos and tensions created in the last parliamentary session.
The Socialists have proposed a 60-day suspension from the work of the Assembly for the deputies who lit flares in the plenary session hall. This includes deputies Fidel Kreka, Albana Vokshi, Ledina Alolli, Denisa Vata, Flamur Noka, Klevis Balliu and Belind Këlliçi.
DP MPs appeared at the Ethics meeting with several banners mocking Prime Minister Edi Rama, Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku and Ergys Agas.
"You will expel Sali Berisha because he is the chairman of the DP, you will expel Flamur Noka because he is the Secretary General of the DP, you will expel Gazment Bardhi because he is the Chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group," said Flamur Noka, adding that the exclusionary measures are not based on evidence.
For Sali Berisha, Gazment Bardhi and MP Elda Hoti, the Socialists are demanding their expulsion from the Assembly for 30 days, while for 19 other opposition MPs, expulsion for 10 days is requested.
Albana Vokshi also claimed the same thing, according to which the majority must present evidence regarding the measures it proposes.
"Where do you have the evidence, where do you base your requests for the expulsion of MPs? This is our evidence," said Vokshi, pointing to some of the banners that the Democratic lawmakers were holding as the meeting took place.
Meanwhile, Socialist MP Ulsi Manja was showing the video from the session when the flares were lit, Gazment Bardhi and Saimir Korreshi reacted by saying that MP Albana Vokshi did not light the flares, rejecting the claim presented by the Socialists.
But Albana Vokshi, in her reaction, claimed that she has fanned the flames and will continue to do the same.
"I have lit it and will light it 100 times until Edi Rama leaves. Yes, I am there. Bring Niko Pelesh here to tell me why he brought the Guard. We are not here like in the trials of the State Security era. We have requested a meeting with the presence of the media. Did you get a message from Rama Ulsi? What did he tell you to do?", said Vokshi, ironically mocking Manja.
The Ethics meeting was filmed with the phones of DP deputies, which forced the meeting to be interrupted, while the Socialists left.
