Journalist Ardit Rada, commenting on the clashes between the leaders of two new parties, Albania Becomes and Nisma Thurje, which competed in a coalition in the May 11 elections, said that Endri Shabani's pressures on Adriatik Lapaj were necessary.
According to him, the spirit of Berishism has also affected the new opposition coalitions, and here, skill is needed in overcoming such impasses.
On ABC News' "Last Minute" show, Rada said that sometimes undemocratic means are needed to establish democratic standards.
"I think there is something beyond the mandate because otherwise the conflict would not have started two months after the elections. We must understand that it is not just about one mandate, but which party will be declared parliamentary and will receive the benefits of the law. And others like these. But it seems as if Lapaj has declared the result of May 11 as a personal victory, he wanted to monopolize the victory if we can call it that.
At this moment, the need for undemocratic means arises to establish democratic standards. Lapaj, with so few public appearances, has shown tendencies to monopolize the success of the coalition. Sometimes it takes movements such as the pressure of the Nisma Thurje to establish some boundaries. The French Revolution or the Magna Carta, ended with the beheading of the king as the only way to establish democracy.
Because someone emerges who thinks they are better than the others and then the need arises for others to react and make it clear that there is no individual success in a coalition, even more so in a small coalition like the Albania Becomes Initiative.
So Adriatik Lapaj alone cannot make Albania and the Albania Becomes Initiative is not represented by Adriatik Lapaj alone. The pressure of the Thurje Initiative is essentially a mentality beyond Berishism, that even when it is 83 years old people say: only he can do it! Because the big opposition has not been able to make this separation, we have the result that many have left this party. So I would hope that the new opposition would not have this fate, "said journalist Ardit Rada.
