
President Bajram Begaj has decreed the appointment of magistrate Genti Shala as a Judge of the Supreme Court.
" In accordance with Article 93, Article 136, points 1 and 2 of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, as well as Article 48, point 13 of Law No. 96/2016, “On the Status of Judges and Prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”, as amended”, based on Decision No. 818, dated 4.12.2025 of the High Judicial Council, “On the proposal for appointment to the High Court of the candidate Mr. Genti Shala” for the vacant position in the field of criminal law, announced by Decision No. 178, dated 11.5.2022 of the High Judicial Council, I DECREE: Article 1 Mr. Genti Shala is appointed Judge of the High Court from among the judges. Article 2 This decree enters into force immediately ', the decision states.
Genti Shala has a long and consolidated experience in the justice system, starting his career in 1995. He has served as a Substitute Member of the Judicial Appointments Council (JAC) for 2023.
In the period February 2007 - May 2010, he was a member of the Central Election Commission, while previously he served as a judge at the Shkodra Court of Appeal (2004–2007) and at the Shkodra Judicial District Court (1998–2004).
