The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, conveyed Easter greetings to Orthodox believers from the city of Korça, where he participated in the celebration of the most important day for them.
During his visit, the Head of State first stopped in Voskopoja and visited some of the historic churches in the area, accompanied by priest Father Thoma Samara, who serves in the church of Saint Kolli.
Afterwards, President Begaj was received at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Korça by the Metropolitan of Korça, His Grace Anastasi. From this seat, he conveyed his congratulations to all Orthodox believers and Albanian citizens.
"I am very happy today to be in Korça to congratulate all Orthodox believers from the Metropolis of Korça: Happy Easter! May it be a blessed Easter for all believers, but also for all Albanians," said the President.
In his message, Begaj emphasized the importance of solidarity and coexistence, stating that the light of this holiday should serve to bring people closer to each other.
"I wish that the light of the candle, lit last night in church, illuminates the hearts of every individual and our entire society, so that we become better, more united and more prosperous with each other ," he declared.
During the visit, the President also wished Metropolitan Anastasius a successful ministry, in this first Easter celebration in his new position. Begaj also held meetings with Orthodox clergy, believers and personalities of the city of Korça.
