Primaries, Kreshnik Çollaku against: We are in an emergency, here's

MP Kreshnik Çollaku expresses doubts regarding the development of the primaries for the selection of candidates for MPs of the Democratic Party in the conditions that this political force is going through, which he defines as an emergency or crisis situation.

Despite evaluating the primaries as a very valuable process in itself, Çollaku emphasizes the installation and culture of acceptance and respect for all.

" The primaries process is a valuable process in itself, it is a process that democratizes parties, ennobles parties, and gives decision-making power to all segments of the party. In principle, there is nothing to criticize. When we talk about primaries, we imagine American primaries, where a year and a half before, candidates line up, present platforms, debate, one wins and the others salute him. The challenge is that primaries or elections within the party, yes, but a culture of acceptance and respect for everyone must also be installed.

"Such elements raise concerns about the progress of the process, such as inclusiveness, guarantees and complete processes from A to Z. If this happens, there is nothing wrong with primaries taking place, but in situations of crisis or emergency, it is necessary to analyze whether they harm or strengthen the political formation ," Çollaku emphasizes in an interview with Report TV.

The Democratic MP is against including the Freedom Party and Ilir Meta in the safe lists of the DP, as he says that ideologically they represent the left. He emphasizes that other right-wing opposition parties cannot be left out of the coalition.

" Meta is arrested, arrested in a vulgar and illegal manner, I have had the opportunity to work, I have no personal problems. The idea of putting everyone on one list would work if the entire spectrum were put on one list. It makes no sense when ideologically left-wing parties find a place on a DP list. If there were total unification, it would make sense. If the opposition is divided, from an electoral point of view I have a kind of skepticism. It is a left-wing party that we have some differences that separate us, ideologically, I don't know how fruitful it would be from an electoral point of view.

From a political point of view I understand it, from a human point of view I also understand it, human solidarity, but from an electoral point of view I have my skepticism. This is my opinion, whoever has it in their hands and who leads it will appreciate it. I have no problem if PL comes in, but I would not like to see right-wing segments left outside the front of the DP , "says the democratic deputy.

Çollaku emphasizes that only united can they fight against Prime Minister Rama in the May 11 elections.

" I insist on the unity of the DP and the Democrats, I think it is the only path that can bring success to us and when I bring it to the DP, I bring it to the entire opposition. Unity and only unity is the guarantee of the DP towards victory. The war within the species is a feast for Edi Rama. We cannot waste energy, not a second of time, to wage battles against each other, with prejudices and judgments, each side in its own right. It is dangerous today to continue the rivalry of the war within the species, it would be an undeserved feast for Rama. A DP that goes into conflict, divided, with two or three different subjects that will harm each other, is a blow to Rama. We must overcome ourselves to understand that the great evil is Edi Rama ", said the MP.
