To see how the real players play in this industry, it's worth looking at the numbers and the list, where Albania doesn't even appear at all ...
Albania really had a larger number of visitors last year, which can rightly be called a record.
But that 'boom' that the government propagates is nothing but a false reality. This is clearly seen if you analyze the passport nationalities that prevail in "tourist Albania".
The lion's share of this "boom" is made up of 24-carat Albanians: the Albanians of Kosovo, North Macedonia, the Presheva Valley and our entire Albanian diaspora.
Today, that Kosovo has gained freedom of movement in the countries of the EU and the Schengen area, according to all likelihood, the number of visitors will suffer a drastic reduction, as the arrival of visitors from Kosovo on weekends to Albania has also suffered a reduction. A phenomenon that has already been noticed on the border between Albania and Kosovo. But what brings a clearer result to show this propaganda is the statistics of Eurostat, forwarded by Instat for the number of tourists in European countries, where Albania does not appear in the list at all.
According to this statistic, there are frightening data from countries in the region such as Croatia, which annually has 36 million tourists. And this is really an industry, an industry that is not at all a coincidence in a country that, before becoming an EU country, turned into a Balkan Austria with a perfect infrastructure. The Croatian coast is a jewel where concrete monsters don't even cross your mind. And precisely for this, it competes 'tooth for tooth' with another tourism monster in the Balkans, such as Greece.
Croatia has only 1 million less than the mecca of Mediterranean tourism, even though it entered the race quite late.
To see how the real players play in this industry, it is worth looking at the numbers and the list, where Albania does not even appear at all.
Eurostat today published the number of tourists for online bookings only, for the year 2023. Hotel bookings are not included here.

France 152 million
Spain 132 million
Italy 100 million
Germany 46 million
Greece 37 million
Croatia 36 million
And so on, almost the main part of the countries that use statistics are listed.
In 2023, Italy alone captured the figure of 851 million tourists, for hotel bookings and in the rest that can be seen in the photo, that of 100 million tourists.
Talking about industry? It's this list. If we talk about propaganda, this year it can be turned against Albania in Ksamil and Saranda, and above all with the arrivals from Kosovo that will be reduced in size.
For years, Albania has had only backpackers and low-cost visitors from Italy, but also from Europe.
Edi Rama's concern is that this year there may be a much smaller number of visitors, precisely starting from the lack of tourism last year, when there was a chaotic situation of visitors in the south.
Of course, this year Albania will have mainly young adventure visitors who love hiking and the mountainous part, or even the liberal part at sea, but it is likely to lose the Kosovar Albanians./ Pamphlet
