Evi Kokalari, an Albanian-American activist who was not allowed to run for the position of leader of the Democratic Party of Albania (DP) because she did not meet the criteria, according to official announcements from the structure that screens candidacies, has reacted to the protest held on Friday afternoon in Tirana.
A few hours before the protest, Kokalari called on the Democrats to abandon their support for Sali Berisha, while afterwards, in a post on social media, she congratulated those who did not attend the rally called by the Democratic Party.
According to Kokalari, the Democrats' non-participation in the protest was a message given not only to Berisha, but also to all those who fight to free the opposition from the clutches of those they consider monsters.

"Love to all of you who stayed home today ," Kokalari wrote in her message.
The activist, who in 2021 and 2022 appeared alongside Berisha in the clash he had with Lulzim Basha and in what was considered the re-establishment of the DP, later became one of the critics and opponents of the democratic leader. Kokalari claims that Berisha did not keep any of the promises he made during his speeches and later with the Re-establishment.
