The head of the Parliamentary Group of the Reestablishment DP, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted after the majority boycotted the Investigative Commission for concessionary contracts in health.
In his reaction, Bardhi states that the boycott cannot cover the corruption made with the sterilization and check-up contracts, but shows the fear of the majority.
He also calls on the socialists to give up the boycott and return to the mission to control corrupt affairs.
"Boycott cannot cover corruption! Boycott cannot be a tool in the activity of institutions. When this tool is used by the majority, with the aim of hindering the work of the institution itself and not allowing the parliamentary investigation, this takes on the characteristics of a constitutional coup The repeated behavior of the majority of deputies in the Health Contracts Investigation Committee is an indication of the majority's panic over the control of the sterilization and check-up contracts. Why are they hiding?
Blockade/boycott behavior is thankfully a film seen by every citizen, because they are following the same pattern they tried to follow in the Incinerator Commission of Inquiry. In that case they failed miserably. Not only did they not prevent the opposition from going to the end of that corrupt affair, but today they had the chance to see Erion Veliaj, the main "witness" of that Investigative Commission, waiting 1 hour behind the door of SPAK to be questioned.
The majority MPs should remember the arrogant face of Erion Veliaj in the Investigative Commission and compare it with his face today when he entered SPAK to account for 130 million euros stolen from the citizens' budget in the Tirana Incinerator. In the Investigative Commission, the majority MPs represented him, but today they did not have this opportunity.
Therefore, give up the boycott and return to the mission to check corrupt affairs. The duty of every MP is to protect the public interest, not to advocate for the corrupt. The traces of corruption in health care, just like in incinerators, cannot be covered by boycotts, blockages, delays, or party advocacy," writes Bardhi.
