Spartak Ngjela, who lined up in the "Euro-Atlantic Opposition Arc", an alliance with right-wing parties led by Lulzim Basha, says their union came about because the US was not accepting the former leader, now declared non grata.
Invited to the show 'Frontline' on Report TV, Spartak Ngjela said that he joined to give his contribution to the right.
" The right was not finding out what relationship it had with Washington because Washington does not accept the old leader. I went to give my contribution to the right. I have taken it upon myself to make a legal structure for the unification together, to come up with the unification program. How will this formation operate? There will be a leadership. All together with Basha's initiative. There are 10 Basha MPs and there is money. Everything will be seen from our relationship with the electorate. Basha made the offer and I accepted it ," said Ngjela.
Asked if they will be a winning force in the 2025 elections, Njela said that a program will be needed. Njjela added that PD is far from power today, as it is 18% in the polls.
" Politics is a speech and a program. It is structure. I will give my contribution. It won't be small and I can't talk ahead of time. We will have another meeting that I will ask Basha to share the tasks with. We will leave the tasks open with the present media. I measured myself in the election, you know. I have been to PD. The right must come to power to have benefits. It is far from the 18% power it is today ," said Ngjela.
There is no union with Re-establishment, emphasizes lawyer Spartak Ngjela, as they are a 'non grata' force.
" They are force 'non grata' Reestablishment. We can't join. This is the largest pro-American association in the world in Albania. Saliu did not know how to manage non women. America gave it to the whole family.
We will have to absorb the intellectuals. There is an inheritance in wealth. It has the legacy of the DP. Saliu helped him become president. Saliu went non grata to America and made the decision to kick him out of the party ," said Ngjela.
As for the Reestablishment agreement with SP, Njela said it is in their favor. But according to the lawyer, the system of democracy is decided by Washington, which is the guardian of democracy.
' Let them make the deal. It is in our favor. The right fled to the communists. That they think that they will take power with the communists. Can the socialists vote for Saliu? I am saying that everything is going in our favor. The system is decided by Washington, the guardian of democracy here is American politics. Will they give us this right to take democracy forward ', said Ngjela.
The lawyer said that the Socialist Party is the first party and that it is difficult to topple easily.
" The Socialists are very reserved, they don't buy votes. They don't bother to buy votes because they have a compact mass and they buy votes. Whoever gets it gets the power. Do you know that Rama was right-wing? He went to the left because they know that they take power. SP is not so easily defeated in Albania. It is the first party with a high percentage. They do not need a leader. I have fought 3 battles with them. What have I lost with them! " said Ngjela
