The former prime minister, Sali Berisha, reacted through a live video on Facebook from the Parliament hall, a few minutes before the start of the plenary session where the removal of his immunity as a deputy will be voted on, to pave the way for more after the arrest.
Berisha stated that the majority wants to arrest the leader of the opposition in order to defeat the latter.
The former prime minister also said that he called the decision of the Constitutional Court, which did not accept the complaint of the opposition MPs about the measures against him, unconstitutional.
He also said that the opposition MPs have terrified Edi Rama, because for weeks there have been more guards in the parliament than MPs.
According to him, the parliament has been in unconstitutionality for weeks now.
"They are the opposition MPs, who have resolutely denounced and denounce the unimaginable thefts, the affairs of the century of Edi Rama, his family members, Taulant Balla and the ministers. The opposition MPs have expressed the horror of the majority. Parliament has more security guards than deputies. The de facto parliament has become illegitimate and unconstitutional. After an unconstitutional decision of the Constitutional Court, of the unconstitutional decision of the Rama-Brava commission, he voted for the removal of my immunity and the arrest of the chairman of the Democratic Party, believing that in this way they will defeat the opposition. This crime can never defeat the opposition and proves that in Albania there is a strong opposition that stands firm against this gang in power that has established its dictatorship. The attempt made on September 9 by this gang with the international gang of George Soros failed spectacularly. This attempt will fail miserably.
