The meeting of the Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi, with the heads of the parliamentary groups has concluded.
The head of the Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardha, said that they learned about the changes to the parliamentary committees from the media on the day of the SP Assembly.
According to him, the majority has violated the Constitution and Albania becomes the first country in the region and Europe to remove the leadership of the Integration Commission from the opposition.
Bardhi added that since the government has declared the Integration Committee a priority this mandate, it should not merge this committee with the Foreign Affairs Committee.
"For the DP, it is unacceptable that the public be informed about the organization of the Assembly at the SP Assembly, they are joint working bodies of the opposition and the majority. The organization should be the result of the work of both."
The fact accomplished today with the appointment of the mayors and deputy mayors shows the authoritarian spirit that Edi Rama has installed in the Republic of Albania.
The dissolution of the European Commission, the mechanism that the opposition had in its hands, is nullified after this commission was merged with the foreign affairs commission.
"The merger confirms the majority's will to exclude the opposition from the process. Albania is the first country to exclude the opposition that does not have a dedicated committee for integration when it prioritizes the process," said Bardhi.
