Ervin Salianji has sent a direct message to Sali Berisha and Flamur Noka, inviting them to open the space for the Democrats who, according to him, are ready to confront the government.
Salianji emphasized that the Democratic Party must find a place for everyone within its structures and rejected claims that there is a lack of people in the meeting rooms.
"We must find everyone a position in the DP and if they cry that there are no people in the halls, open your arms, friends, that's where the Democrats are and let them take the Government forward. But when they tell us and you have heard that we, thousands of Democrats throughout Albania, are not at the right time. Yes, we are late. That it has been 13 years that we have only lost and do not react, but the Democrats do not keep their heads down, they are not used to keeping their heads down, the Democrats must keep their heads up. We have 500 thousand supporters, but today they have gone further.
Some say they are afraid of the regime, but the Democrats are not afraid. The halls are full. There is no greater interest for me than the overthrow of Rama. I grew up in this party. There is no greater inertia than the overthrow of Rama and I know all the problems. But how can it be said that there is a problem for the DP, me and you who have defeated Rama and not those who are crushed by Rama in every election. I think that the DP still has the strength to win elections. We have found the mechanism to overthrow Edi Rama an hour ago. We need to build a different rhetoric. No one is inspired and how should politics be if it does not serve the people. Your presence excites me because there are still Albanians, and democrats who do not give up. There are democrats who do not accept this degradation,” he said.
