The deputy of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, denounced the law on strategic investments a few days ago, which according to her, the government opens the way for constructions in protected areas.
Through a reaction on social networks, Tabaku emphasizes that the names of the strategic beneficiaries are public for all Albanians.
But the democratic deputy emphasizes that the danger now is that this minority, which has benefited at the expense of the majority, will start taking parts of the protected areas, reducing the value of Albania.
The democratic deputy raises her voice strongly, stating that this law should not be allowed to pass.
"A few days ago, in a meeting with environmentalist associations, I linked the postponement of the deadline for the Law of Strategic Investments with the demands brought for the Law of Protected Areas. Being sparing with my words without seeing the facts, I did not overreact because the draft of the Government is only a week old which is approved yet that no one had seen yet.
As soon as the draft became public, the biggest worries turned into truth. We can clearly talk about the clear connection between the two requirements, since the government itself openly declares that strategic investments will be able to be built in the middle of protected areas that are a wonder of our natural heritage.
What are strategic investments according to the Albanian government, it will not take much time to understand; the names of the strategic beneficiaries are public for all Albanians. The danger now is that this minority, which has benefited at the expense of the majority, will start taking parts of the protected areas, reducing the value of Albania.
That's why and some time ago, I proposed that the Law of Strategic Investments be suspended because it is not only in violation of the SAA but because it has really destroyed the concept of competition and the market.
While today, the shamelessness of the destruction of the environment, which until yesterday was hidden behind fictitious reports, comes to the fore, witnessing the true face of the government, which on the one hand declares Vjosa as a National Park and with the other hand signs the massacre of protected areas such as the Vjosa River. This law should not be allowed to pass!" writes Tabaku.
