Prime Minister Edi Rama, also the leader of the Socialist Party, in his speech at the opening rally of the Socialists' campaign for the May 11 elections, said that only we have the fate of Albania's EU membership in our hands.
Rama focused his speech on the country's EU membership process, describing this as the golden opportunity that Albania has.
"We have the historic chance to take the final step towards Europe," said Rama.
He emphasized that there is only one date ahead of us, May 11, and after that only one mandate to win the historic bet for Albania's membership in the EU.
"We have the chance to change the course of history, we have Albania's European destiny in our hands," Rama emphasized.
He considered Albania's membership in the EU and becoming one with it as a final march towards the promised land of Europe.
"Fate gave us the chance to change the course of history forever.
Right here, right now, a crossroads between a pair of political choices and a historic opportunity for Albania that in just 4 years can become the mistress of the united European family.
"Only we have Albania's European destiny in our hands. We have 30 days to connect with every Albanian who loves the lady of Albania in the EU salon and himself as an equal citizen of the EU," he said.
