Rama tells what Macron told him about Kosovo: He will not open the way for visas

Prime Minister Edi Rama from the premises of the Pyramid, Rama also told what the French President, Emmanuel Macron, told him about the visas for Kosovo.

In an interview for the show 'Opinion', the head of the government stated that Macron told him that "he will not pave the way if those in Pristina do not pave the way for the agreement of the Franco-German plan".

Rama advised politicians in Kosovo to read carefully what Macron said because according to him, he spoke about the next few weeks which are "weeks of opportunity".

Excerpt from the interview:

Blendi Fevziu : First, how did you understand and of course you have additional information from us, how did President Macron interpret his statement that 'we will suspend visas for Kosovo'. 'Suspended' he said.

Edi Rama : He touched on the issue of the situation in the dialogue process, like everyone else, but perhaps a little more than the others, he himself is hurt by the fact that even though he has personally committed himself together with Chancellor Scholz to put in table a plan called the Franco-German plan and which is the best thing that can happen to Kosovo at this stage of its history and while discussing it he told me that I am not ready to pave the way if those in Pristina do not will pave the way for agreement on the Franco-German plan.

Blendi Fevziu : What did he mean by "I will not make way"? Visas?

Edi Rama : Yes, of course!

Blendi Fevziu : So Macron was direct that he will not allow visas if Pristina does not accept the plan. What if Vucic does not accept the plan?

Edi Rama : He also said it at the conference.

Blendi Fevziu : What if there were comments afterwards that he didn't say it like that, he said it from a different perspective? Many discussions arose.

Edi Rama : She was very clear. What is disturbing is that both public figures and fake profiles incited by public figures to attack him and then even attack me, are you saying I did it?

Blendi Fevziu : Why did Macron have to come to Tirana to make that statement, Mr. Rama, about the other half of the Albanian world?

Edi Rama: Are you saying that I have all the power to tell the French President, you will do this, you will do that. On the contrary, but this is another, it does not matter that I am used to this. I advise them to read carefully what he said because he talked about the next few weeks which are weeks of opportunity. So there must be movement in the right direction because the entire community of allies and friends of Kosovo cannot be taken hostage, the entire Euro-Atlantic community cannot be taken hostage to oppose their very, very determined and yes so sincere to solve the issue of Kosovo itself.
