DP leader Sali Berisha has commented on the progress report presented by the European Commission for Albania.
Berisha emphasized that apart from the geostrategic criterion, Albania does not meet any other criteria.
"First, we need to read the report, see it to make assessments about it.
But my position is this. Apart from the geostrategic criterion, Albania absolutely does not meet any other criterion. We have done our utmost to inform EU institutions, especially the parliament. But also representatives of the embassies of partner countries about the developments in Albania.
This is not an easy process for an opposition, but we have reached 4 international resolutions which are almost identical to the OSCE-ODIHR report. Anyone who reads the resolutions and reads the OSCE-ODIHR report sees a very great similarity between them.
But there are still defenders of the narco-regime, there are others who are critical of me because I denounce the narco-state, but I denounce a great truth that is destroying my nation and my country. And those who defend it - I told the story of Donald Lu yesterday. I told it. - They do nothing but continue that line. A complete pocket line for Albanians to know, a corrupt line. How can you ignore the narco-state at a time when official documents prove that Franc Çopja alone has circulated billions of euros. At a time when the Euro and the Dollar have depreciated by 30-35%.
At a time when exports fall from year to year with double-digit declines, industrial production falls from year to year, agricultural production falls from year to year, and Albanians flee, flee and only flee because their jobs are destroyed. At
a time when these gentlemen seek to cover the sun with a sieve, to cover the towers of drugs and corruption with empty phrases. We have patience, we continue our informative battle, we inform and we have full conviction that these will gradually be realized", Sali Berisha.
