The government has reviewed the state budget for 2024. The news was announced by the Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj, who said that there were positive economic results from the collection of revenues.
In a statement to the media, after the end of the government meeting, Minister Malaj clarified that we have revised the budget for 2024, increasing the estimated income for this year to the value of 27 billion ALL.
Further, the minister said that the funding has been distributed between the Ministry of Agriculture, which will receive 500 million ALL, the Ministry of Health 250 million ALL, the Ministry of the Interior 1.3 billion ALL and the Ministry of Education and Sports 300 million ALL.
According to the Minister of Finance, 2 billion lek will be added as funding to the waterworks to complete the necessary projects.
"In today's meeting of the government, some changes were approved regarding the 2024 budget. As a result of the positive performance of the Albanian economy, we have revised the 2024 budget, increasing the estimated income for this year to the value of 27 billion ALL.
Here, additional income will be distributed in those sectors that have a high impact on social life and in sectors that contribute to the economic development of the country.
We have increased funding for the Minister of Agriculture by 500 million lek to support the farmers' grant scheme. We have increased additional funding to the amount of 250 million lek for the Ministry of Health to finance primary and secondary care service projects.
We have increased funding for the Ministry of the Interior in the amount of 1.3 billion lek, for the food compensation of the police, in addition to additional working hours, and we have increased the funds for the Minister of Education and Sports in the amount of 300 million lek for the reward of sportsmen who have achieved good results
We have also increased funding for the UK to 2 billion ALL where a great deal of work has been done and needs to be invested. It will continue to be financed in the national, local and rural infrastructure and in that infrastructure that will play a key role in the economic development of the country", said Minister Malay.
