After 10 months with an acting mayor, the municipality of Himara now has a commanding mayor, but this has been accompanied by chaos and numerous debates, bringing a harsh reaction from Greece.
However, everything that has happened so far, including the fight at today's meeting of the Municipal Council, for prefect Vangjel Tavo is a conflict created for very small interests.
In an interview on 'A2 CNN', Tavu said that this "storm in a glass", as he called it, is happening due to the misinterpretation of the law, with or without intention.
"I was as the prefect of Vlora, after all, and as if I were a simple citizen, I have the right to be present in that hall, I think that by misinterpreting the law, or they do it intentionally, they think they can intimidate The Council to exercise its functions, based on the law on local government. They are the ones who want to hold Himara hostage, Himara is not part of a group of people, but the Municipality of the entire community that lives in Himara, but is going through undeserved moments for the Himariot community because of the misinterpretations that they want to make laws and local conflicts that have reached absurd proportions. Storm in a glass, all the representatives of that community should learn first, sit down and cooperate. Stifled conflicts for petty interests that fuel strife ," he said.
Tavo did not have a concrete answer as to whether he will be the candidate of the Socialists for mayor. He sufficed to say that he will be engaged in the best way to do the work of the prefect of the district.
" I am fully committed to the task assigned to me as the prefect of the Vlora district, which apart from Himara has other municipalities and I am committed to serving this community and beyond the guarantor" , declared Tavo.
