Freedom Party President Ilir Meta said he is certain that the political force he leads will win 12 seats in the May 11 elections. Meta has been in prison since October of last year, accused of three corruption cases. Meta says he was kidnapped in a bandit manner so that Rama could win a fourth term.
"My campaign is going at an excellent pace, from 80-150 letters per day. It started with 50-100 letters per day and will end with 200 letters per day, I believe. I am also convinced that the Freedom Party is moving safely towards its 12 mandates (4+8). I was kidnapped on October 21 in a bandit manner, as Aldo Moro was kidnapped in Italy by terrorist brigades, precisely because of May 11, so that Rama could steal a fourth term, but things have changed a lot since then ," Meta told A2 CNN.
He states that the people of the Freedom Party are working on the ground even better than some of the structures.
"I am in contact with dozens and hundreds of them every day. Since the moment my name was announced on the open lists, my day has changed a lot. Because priority No. 1 is reading the letters that come in and writing letters to collaborators, members of the Freedom Party, but also friends and acquaintances from childhood, school, high school, university, sports, etc.," said Meta.
