Artist Bujar Kapexhiu spoke out against calls to remove old figures like Sali Berisha and Edi Rama from the political scene.
Invited to the show "Të Pekspozuarit" on MCN TV, he said that they have already entered the history of Albania and it is a great chance that they are and should be for as long as possible.
" I am older than Sali Berisha because I was born a few months before him. It is a chance that we have people like Sali Berisha and let's have them as long as possible. Whether we like it or not, whether you like it or not, the figures of Rama and Berisha are figures that have remained in Albanian history, they already belong to history. They have a certain contribution that one majority counts only the good, the other only the mistakes.
Berisha is very respectable. It seems absurd to me that we tell Rama, Berisha, to go away. The greatest absurdity is when I hear "Rama Go Away". Now for Berisha and Rama, one is not an artist and the other is not a doctor. They are politicians now and you cannot tell them to go away.
Their profession is politics.
Do they want to remove Rama? There are 500 thousand who want to remove him, but when they become a majority, let them remove him. He said that he will leave when he wants. I can also tell him to leave, but he knows better. It's like the job of a footballer who leaves his shoes when he scores a goal and leaves.
"Leave as party leader, leave as prime minister and let's stay together as friends, " said Kapexhiu.
