DP MP, Jorida Tabaku, has reacted through a post on social networks regarding the salary and taxation situation in Albania.
" For a year in a row, the socialists talked about minimum wages, pensions and average wages. Today, Albanians face the bitter reality: the lowest minimum wage in the region and an unfair tax system that weighs heavily on labor and the middle class. Meanwhile, the economy works only for the minority, " writes Tabaku.
Referring to the latest Eurostat data, Tabaku says that the minimum wage in Albania is €408, €200 less than in Serbia, €189 less than in North Macedonia, and €262 less than in Montenegro.
Tabaku emphasizes that Albanians have the lowest purchasing power in the region, with over 40% of the family budget going to food, while prices increase every day due to government-protected monopolies.
"This unjust system is destroying the middle class, driving thousands of Albanians towards emigration and extinguishing hope for a life with dignity in the country, " the MP concludes.
